Fancy Nancy - Fun For All!
If your little one likes the Fancy Nancy series she'll love this book for the Tag. The voices are great and the interactive games that test reading comprehension are excellent. It's also a nice reprieve from reading all the other Fancy Nancy books you're used to reading. It doesn't get "old" as quickly as a regular book due to its interactive nature (much like any of the other Tag books) but it's great because she's so popular with my daughter.
This one is a bit more "mature" in terms of reading comprehension. Usually my daughter can answer the game questions on her own easily enough but with this book the "fancy" words can be a bit challenging for her (she's in Kindergarten) so I see this book lasting us a little bit longer than some of the other more juvenile books.
Educational and Fun!

Excellent! Better than most other tag books.
I agree with the overall sentiment that the tag reading system is a great product. However I just wanted to chime in to say that this book is much better than the average tag book.
My daughter liked reading the story -- but what keeps her coming back are the quizzes and games. This is where the SpongeBob book shines. There is a really nice section at the back with several pages of quizzes and games. The games progress in levels where the child builds upon what they are learning. For example there is a section on 'past and present' tense. First the concept is introduced then the child is asked to pick a few words which are then used in a funny story/example. Then they play a game where the tag reads words and they must choose whether the word is past or present. The child must understand the concept before being able to choose the correct answers. I really enjoyed watching my daughter figure this out.
Overall I think this is a great book very entertaining and keeps the kids interested over time -- which for me is important. I don't want to have to buy a new book every week to keep my daughter interested in the toy. There aren't that many books available and it would become expensive fast.

My daughter loves this!
My daughter is in kindergarten and she absolutely loves this book! The story is entertaining and will keep your child reading for hours! The pen says each word as the child points to it. This has helped my daughter with her beginning comprehension!

Unqualified success!
Gift for my 3 year old grand daughter. Uploading new books to the Tag pen is simple and easy - really well thought out! Was able to do this in minutes without using any instructions at all. Grand daughter literally spends hours using the "pen" to listen to this book and the two others we first got for her. She seems to enjoy just clicking on various pictures to hear what is said and listening to the stories. She has not had much interest in the games but that will probably come later. We have already purchased and loaded four more books for her. I only wish I had thought of this first!

Great book for Tag Jr. My 2.5 son loves it. Don't get it here though. Any store will sell it for 10.99 and Leap frog runs specials often.

Appropriate for 15 months - 3 years
I own the entire Tag Junior library. Check out my ratings before buying books! (I wish I had researched before buying them all!)
Each left-and-right page spread features a Cars-themed scene that contains several different versions of the current shape (for example "circle" page has a Mater scene where the sun his tires a street sign and a shop sign are all circles). Shapes included are: triangle square circle diamond rectangle oval and star.
Given that my son is a bit advanced for some of the Tag Junior books I sat down with my 15-month-old and let her explore with it. She has already mastered how it works and a "shapes" book like this one is just the right start for her age. It is also appropriate for my 3-year-old in that he can search for shapes within the picture (in I Spy fashion) and not simply be taught what a circle or square is. Overall I feel like this book is a good value because it actually will get use out of pretty wide age/ability range though for us not quite how LeapFrog has judged it (2-4).

Great Product!
If you buy the Tag system I recommend getting this case it's got a spot for everything you need and holds a lot of the books so everything is in one place. A huge help! And it protects all the books and pens very well.

Very nice story!
My son got this book for Christmas and absolutely loves it. We've read it five times already - it's looking like his new favorite. The story is about a giraffe going to the annual animal dance party but because his legs are so long and his neck is so skinny he can't dance very well and everyone makes fun of him. He leaves the party feeling embarrassed and sad until a cricket tells him that perhaps he was just trying to dance to the wrong song. The giraffe listens to the wind and gazes at the moon and before he knows it he's dancing beautifully having found his confidence. Charming tale made all the better by the Tag system. It's really helped my son learn new words and attempt reading on his own and all the little character noises make it so much fun!

5 year old boy loves it!
My 5 year old is a big Spiderman fan and loves this book. He enjoys using his Tag reader to "read" it by himself. He is thrilled to hear Spiderman's voice and all of the sound effects. Both of my sons (the other is 3) have always loved books but this is just a new and different way for them to spend time "reading". It's not a board book so the pages are thin and could rip if you have a baby in the house who is prone to ripping up books. A great buy.
